Workshops: Basics

Mastering Surrender

In this course we explore what makes for a successful play with roles and limits. We will create an environment where participants can safely experiment within the these realms:

- erotic play as creative “theater”
- creating a container of love and respect
- the interplay between dominant and submissive pleasure
- pain and energies (with guest trainer Lippe)
- playing with sensate limits and surrender as a bridge between body and spirit

Presence, trust, full body sensuality and breath serve as our aphrodisiac. Step by step, you learn how to develop a scene, how to powerfully and confidently lead your partner into an experience of more and more trust and surrender. We experiment with roles, verbal and nonverbal communication, energy and pain transformation, intention and specific techniques.

Aside from learning how to spice up your everyday life with creative sexuality, the exchange between power and surrender creates intense intimacy and a strong sense of fulfillment and belonging. Sometimes it even leads to transcendental experiences.

Everybody is invited to bring their favorite toys/outfits, so we can inspire each other.

Rudol zur Lippe on pain:

We attempt to find new words and descriptions for the well-established notion of “SM.” Yet, it is undeniable that what we mean does have to do with pain. The Art of SM teaches us how pain can invite surrender and become a transforming agent. The more the term SM becomes mainstream and commercialized, the more likely is the possibility that the depth and artfulness that lie at its core are missed. It is not about one person enjoying to hurt another - as we tend to understand the term “Sadist” - nor is it about the Masochist’s kick to out himself as such.
We want to consciously distinguish two ways that pain can serve us.

One type of pain is designed to warn us. The sensation of heat warns of burns, tired knees of wear and tear.

The second gift pain presents us with, is so different, that we have to orient toward a different perspective: Pain can lead us. It can bring our attention to a restriction or tension. If I accept the restriction or tension and “follow” it, I work on unwinding, undoing what needs to be released or transformed. I can approach what maybe hiding from my consciousness. When I surrender to the pain, I release into it and dive into a free flow of sensory awareness. This surrender carves out ecstatic, transformative, healing or transcending paths for internal and external energetic experiences.

Surrender always affects our growth as individuals. Yet, the clarity, transformation, enchantment and security we gain there, wants to be instantly put at risk again in order to reach deeper; the peacefulness we gain allows for wildness; discernment gives rise to being carefree.
